Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how VeraSee AI (the "App") and its supporting backend service collect, use, and share information when you use our mobile and web applications.

1. Information We Collect

We are committed to minimal data collection. Specifically:

Photos you submit for analysis: When you capture or select an image for AI detection, the image is transmitted to our backend server, processed by Google's Gemini AI model, and the detection results are returned to your device. Images are not stored on our servers — they are processed in-memory and immediately discarded after analysis.
Detection results: Bounding-box coordinates and labels generated by the AI are returned to your device and stored only locally on your device. We do not retain a copy.
Anonymous usage analytics: We may collect anonymous, aggregated usage data (e.g., which detection mode is used) to improve the App. This data cannot be linked back to an individual user.
Advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, AAID on Android): If you opt in via the App Tracking Transparency prompt, this identifier is shared with Google AdMob to deliver more relevant ads. If you opt out, you will see only non-personalized ads.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or other personally identifiable information.
We do not require account creation or login.
We do not access your contacts, calendar, location, microphone, or any other sensor beyond the camera (and only when you explicitly invoke it for detection).
We do not retain submitted images after the AI analysis is complete.

3. How Your Data Is Used

Photos: Used solely to perform the AI detection you requested. Sent to Google Gemini's API, processed, and discarded.
Anonymous analytics: Used to monitor App health and improve detection accuracy.
Advertising identifier: Used by Google AdMob to deliver advertisements (personalized only with your consent).

4. Third-Party Services

The App relies on the following third-party services. Their privacy policies apply to data they receive:

5. Data Retention

Photos are retained only for the duration of the AI processing call (typically a few seconds). They are never written to persistent storage on our servers. Detection results are stored only on your device, in your control, and may be deleted at any time by clearing the App's local data or uninstalling the App.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the App, please contact us so we may take appropriate action.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Tracking permission: You may grant or deny tracking permission via the iOS App Tracking Transparency prompt at any time, by going to Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Camera and photo library permissions: You may revoke these at any time via your device's privacy settings. The App will continue to function but may have limited capability.
Uninstall: Removing the App permanently removes all locally-stored detection results.

8. Security

All communication between the App and our backend is encrypted via HTTPS (TLS 1.2+). Our backend runs on Fly.io infrastructure with industry-standard security controls.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by a new "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
